Apple Crumble Pie

Not gonna lie here, this healthy homemade apple crumble pie is pretty much the same like my apple crumble mini pies from a few years ago, but it looks like their parent.

Ingredients

CRUST AND CRUMBLE
2 cups ground oats
5 Tbsp coconut oil
4 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp maple syrup or honey (if not vegan)
FILLING
4 sweet apples, peeled and chopped
1 Tbsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp coconut oil

Directions

Preheat the oven to 180C/ 350F.
Crust: Grind oats in your food processor. Add coconut oil, and maple syrup/honey if not vegan and pulse. Add water 1 Tbsp at a time and pulse again. The crust should be sticky and crumbly.
Cover the surface of a springform pan with coconut oil and pour 2/3 of the crust dough. Start pressing the dough from the middle to edges of the pan, working your way up with your fingers.
Filling: Chop your apples and saute them for 3-5 minutes at medium-high in a large non-stick pan with coconut oil and cinnamon. Let the filling cool off for 5 minutes and then spread it over the crust.
Using the rest of the dough, form crumbles with your fingers and put on top of the pie. Optionally you can also top your pie with pecans, walnuts or any other type of nuts.
Bake at 180C / 350 F for 20-30 minutes, until the crust becomes golden brown.
Let the pie cool off a bit and serve with your favorite toppings! Store in the fridge for 3 days.
