Vanilla Brownies

Brownies have always been a classic with chocolate, with vanilla you can make a really special one, you can add chocolate chips to it if you really want some chocolate!

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (Optional)


Step 1.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10×15 inch jelly roll pan.

Step 2.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the flour mixture. Mix in chocolate chips, if desired. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

Step 3.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. When completely cooled, cut into squares.
